• Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a freedom fighter.
• He participated in many movements against the British.
• He was born on 31 October 1875 in Gujarat.
• His father's name was Javerbhai Patel and mother's name was Ladbai.
• He completed his early education from Gujarat itself.
• He was an average student, passed the matriculation examination at the age of 22 when he should have been in graduation.
• But later he studied law from London and obtained the title of barrister.
• He also took part in the movement against the British by Mahatma Gandhi.
• He was greatly influenced by Gandhiji's ideology and admired him a lot.
• He continued to fight against the British till the independence of India.
